At Southwestern College, journalism is a hands-on learning experience. From work on the publication of your choice to all of the new opportunities in Convergent News Media, your experience at Southwestern will put you at the leading edge of media evolution.

You'll lean to think beyond single media to an understanding of how newspaper, photography, radio, television, podcasting, blogs and other websites are all combining to revolutionize news gathering and dissemination.

You'll also be given the unique experience of working one-on-one with mentors from The Daily Oklahoman - the 50th largest newspaper in the nation. Southwestern and the Oklahoman's newsroom staff have a unique relationship that will not only improve your skills, but will act as a major enhancement on your resume after you graduate.

Unlike large schools with hundreds of students who have to wait several semesters before they get real newspaper experience, SC lets you participate immediately.
